Job summary

KoBold Metals is seeking an engineer to develop state-of-the-art instruments for mineral exploration data collection. You will simulate, calibrate, and deploy sensor hardware in field programs, and work with partners to gather diverse data sources.

You will apply a broad set of statistical, physics-based, and ML methods to identify ore-forming signals and to guide exploration decisions, while helping build a worldwide dataset and reducing uncertainty in predictions.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Python data science packages and software development practices.
• Experience integrating data from sensors and field deployments.
• Ability to build, evaluate, and deploy predictive models in geoscience contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy data collection instruments and methods for mineral exploration.
• Build models to locate ore-forming processes and predict mineralization in 2D/3D.
• Collaborate with geoscientists and engineers to deploy hardware in field settings.
