Job summary

BYU is seeking a part-time Data Science Outreach Specialist to engage students, promote programs, and coordinate campus events. You will act as a liaison among students, faculty, and partners to boost recruitment, retention, and program awareness.

Responsibilities include website content updates, newsletters, event planning, and student resource navigation to support student success and program assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple events and priorities.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to quickly learn website management tools and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach and recruitment at university, campus, and community events.
• Promote Statistics and Data Science programs, internships, research, employment, and student engagement opportunities.
• Build partnerships with faculty, departments, student organizations, and campus groups to expand collaboration.
• Serve as a program ambassador and liaison to Data Science and AI committees and related campus initiatives.
• Maintain and update department websites with accurate content.
• Create newsletters, social media content, and other communications for internal and external audiences.
• Plan seminars, workshops, guest lectures, competitions, and networking events.
• Connect students with academic, career, advising, and campus resources.
