Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking a part-time Data Science Outreach Specialist (17.5 hrs/week) to support student engagement, program promotion, and campus/community outreach. The role coordinates activities, serves as a primary contact among students, faculty, departments, student organizations, and industry partners to boost recruitment and retention.

The position emphasizes communications, website content, event planning, and data reporting to support program assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills for coordinating events and projects.
• Ability to rapidly learn website management tools, digital platforms, and other software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach and recruitment at university, campus, and community events.
• Promote Statistics and Data Science programs, internships, research, employment, and student engagement opportunities.
• Build partnerships with faculty, departments, student organizations, and campus groups to expand interdisciplinary collaboration and program awareness.
• Serve as a program ambassador and liaison to Data Science and AI committees and related campus initiatives.
