Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) Ballard Center is seeking a part-time Events and Student Experience Manager (28 hrs/week) to plan and run student events, mentor student workers, and connect students with the Global and Community Impact minor and Ballard Center programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty, staff, and campus partners to foster welcoming experiences and data-driven program improvements that advance BYU’s missions in service and learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience in event management, student services, project management, program administration, or related area.
• Experience planning and coordinating events with multiple timelines, stakeholders, budgets, and details.
• Experience supervising, training, coaching, or mentoring employees, students, or volunteers.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with discretion.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of Ballard Center events from concept through follow-up.
• Hire, train, supervise, and mentor student employees.
• Oversee peer advisement and student pathways connecting students with the GCI minor and Ballard Center programs.
• Lead student engagement efforts across events, advising, and outreach.
• Build partnerships with faculty, advisors, student organizations, and campus offices to raise awareness of Ballard Center opportunities.
• Use participation data and feedback to evaluate programs and improve the student experience.
• Represent the Ballard Center professionally with students, leaders, guests, and community partners.
