Job summary

EY seeks a Data Scientist (Manager) in Chicago to lead analytics engagements, ingest and analyze large data sets, applying AI/ML at scale for clients. You will mentor junior staff and deliver BI insights using Power BI in a hybrid EY model.

Role requires 5 years of experience (or 4 with a Master’s) in quantitative modeling, Python/SQL, cloud tools, and data visualization. Travel up to 80% with some international travel; base salary is $151,920/year with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Data Science/IT/Engineering/Math/Stats/ML/MIS or related field with 5 years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate work experience.
• Master’s degree in CS/Data Science/IT/Engineering/Math/Stats/ML/MIS or related field with 4 years of work experience.
• 4 years of experience in quantitative modeling and analysis focusing on big‑data problem solving.
• 4 years of hands‑on experience in Python or SQL.
• 4 years of experience with data manipulation tools and libraries SQL, Pandas, or Spark.
• 4 years of experience in one or more cloud platforms: Azure, Amazon, Google.
• 4 years navigating database models to build data sets for analytics and model training and development.
• 2 years of experience modelling and visualizing data in Power BI or similar platforms.
• 1 year in delivery of intelligent automation services and the technology life cycle including operating model/strategy, discovery and requirements definition, solution architecture and design, development, testing and production release.
• 1 year of quantitative analysis using Agile methodologies or robotics tool‑specific methodologies.
• 1 year containerization and scaling models and integrating models with downstream systems.
• 2 years managing technical teams, including allocation of work, review of outputs and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead data analytics engagements and mentor junior team members.
• Develop data ingestion, processing, and analytics solutions using in‑house data platforms.
• Deliver client‑facing analytics and BI insights at scale.
• Support business development and knowledge growth to propose data solutions.
• Manage diverse teams and maintain long‑term client relationships.
