Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Data Science Intern to join the Digital Experience Analytics team in downtown Chicago. You will use statistics, modeling, and experimentation to understand digital customer behavior and improve experiences across platforms.

You will collaborate with analytics, product, technology, and business partners, build models, and present findings to leaders. The program runs for 10 weeks with exposure to modern stacks and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Current pursuit of a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Analytics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2027; Masters preferred.
• Evidence of self-directed learning, projects, internships, or coursework using data to solve problems.
• Knowledge of analytics, statistics, or data science with curiosity for digital customer behavior.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer experience across digital channels to uncover opportunities for Grainger and customers.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, technology, and business stakeholders to scope projects.
• Gather, clean, explore, and analyze data from large digital and business ecosystems.
• Build models, automation, tooling, or AI agents for analytics.
