Job summary

SCOR in Charlotte, NC is offering a Data Science Intern position. You will work with data scientists, engineers, and actuaries to apply analytics and software engineering to mortality risk, pricing, and ML fairness. You’ll use Python, Jupyter, and git, and present outcomes using PowerPoint.

The internship runs for 10 weeks in a hybrid setting with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, and relocation within the U.S. is available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing masters or bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (CS, Engineering, Math etc).
• Python proficiency to write working code.
• Probability, statistics, and/or machine learning coursework.

Responsibilities

• Participate in an intensive 10-week data science internship.
• Work as part of an agile team of data scientists, actuaries, and ML engineers.
• Assist in training/interpreting ML models and conducting experiments.
• Assist in writing ML pipelines applying SOLID design principles.
• Understand financial impact of ML models.
• Present final project to Americas Data Analytics staff.
