Job summary

MSD offers a Future Talent Program internship in its Research and Development Division for up to 12 weeks, giving data science students hands-on experience with pharmaceutical data and discovery processes.

The selected candidate will develop data pipelines, apply machine learning, and collaborate with scientists on multiple therapeutic areas while building visible results for the team. May/June 2027 start date, full-time schedule expected.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in a Data Science / Computer Science or bioscience program with substantial computational coursework.
• Available to work full-time for 10–12 weeks starting May or June 2027.
• Strong written and verbal communication with solid academic record.

Responsibilities

• Perform statistical analyses of data from drug discovery projects.
• Develop data pipelines to move and analyze diverse biological data.
• Apply ML models to foundational datasets to support drug discovery.
• Wrangle structured and unstructured data for translational strategies.
• Build automated data connectors between databases and reporting platforms.
• Present progress in internal meetings and final training presentation.
