Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) invites motivated data science interns to join a diverse team of engineers, software developers, data scientists, and analysts. You will support data collection, processing, and analysis aimed at evaluating performance of defense and national-security systems across their lifecycle.

You will work on models and simulations to describe data, predict events, and guide actions that reflect stakeholder needs across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
• Experience with Python and/or R
• Experience with ETL/data pipelines, dashboards or ML methodologies
• Eligibility for Interim Secret security clearance; must be a U.S. citizen
• Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop data collection, processing, and analysis for defense-related systems
• Develop models and simulations to describe data and predict events aligned with stakeholder needs
