Job summary

Turning Stone Enterprises offers a Data Science Internship focused on hands-on data analysis, BI, and problem solving. You will work with experienced analysts on real-world challenges, gaining foundational experience in data tools and cross-functional business insights.

You will run SQL queries, create Power BI visuals, and learn statistics and introductory machine learning using Python or R, contributing to AI-based projects and data quality initiatives.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Starting Pay Rate: $20.00 hourly

The Data Science Internship offers a hands-on learning experience for students with a strong interest in data, business intelligence, and problem-solving. Interns will be exposed to real-world data challenges and will work closely with experienced analysts to support projects across the organization. This internship is designed to provide foundational experience in data analysis, reporting tools, and cross-functional business insights.

Key Technical Responsibilities:

• Assist with querying relational databases using SQL.
• Create basic data visualizations using Power BI or similar tools.
• Gain exposure to statistical methods and introductory machine learning concepts, using Python or R.
• Drive business value through the development of AI based applications.
• Support exploratory data analysis and data cleaning tasks.
• Observe the use of revenue optimization tools (e.g., Duetto) and understand their business applications.

Work Experience

Educational Focus:

• Gain hands-on experience running queries in the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• Learn to apply analytical tools such as Python, R, Power BI to address business needs.
• Contribute to data quality initiatives by identifying and investigating inconsistencies.
• Help develop visual dashboards and reports to support decision-making.
• Work alongside analysts to interpret business trends and effectively communicate findings.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to explore new approaches to reporting and analysis.
• Attend team meetings and learning sessions to gain insight into the strategic role of analytics.

Qualifications:

• Completed three years towards a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, such as Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Business Analytics with a GPA above 3.0.
• Strong curiosity and a desire to ask thoughtful questions and solve problems.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable presenting and communicating insights clearly and professionally.
• Self-motivated with a strong interest in applying data to real-world business decisions.
