Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is actively hiring a Data Science Intern for a summer 2027 program. The role supports the Research and Model Validation teams, applying AI/ML techniques to business-focused projects.

The 11-week internship offers hands-on learning, professional development, and networking, with remote or hybrid options from the Phoenix, AZ area. The anticipated hourly rate is $35.00-$39.00, and applicants must be authorized to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Graduate student pursuing a quantitative or analytically focused degree, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Undergraduate student pursuing a quantitative or analytically focused degree, who had prior CSAA internship experience with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Interest in beginning a career focused on data, statistical analysis, or model validation.
• Experience manipulating raw data using SQL, Python, or R.
• Creative problem-solving skills and a strong interest in machine learning.
• Ability to analyze data or model results, identify meaningful findings and limitations, and communicate meaningful statistical insights.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and present information clearly to others.
• Passion for learning new concepts and a commitment to continuous development.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US.

Internship Summary:

We are actively hiring a Data Science Intern! This summer, we are seeking a motivated individual interested in beginning a career in Data Science and supporting our Research and Model Validation teams. As an intern, you will work with our data science teams on innovation projects focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning.

CSAA Internship Program:

As an intern, you will participate in an 11-week summer internship experience with an emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world immersion into our business. Our interns participate in professional development and job-specific training and plenty of networking opportunities to gain deep understanding of their role and department while also broadening their knowledge of CSAA’s business. We offer an Intern Innovation Challenge, executive meet and greets, community service opportunities, and social bonding activities to help you stay connected.

Internship Details:

The anticipated dates of our 2027 summer internship will be May 24-August 6. This role can be remote or hybrid based out of our Phoenix, AZ office. The anticipated hourly rate for this role is $35.00-$39.00.
