Role Overview

Our organization is seeking a Data Protection Governance Senior Associate. This role is focused on the content engineering side of data protection, with an emphasis on tuning and configuring Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies. The ideal candidate will have experience building out data protection capabilities and navigating the processes of a highly regulated environment. This position involves collaborating with various team members to implement transformations, minimize data exfiltration, and ensure appropriate protections are designed and documented.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and configure data protection policies within tools such as Symantec, Purview, Zscaler, Proofpoint, and Island Browser.
• Document engineering processes and provide rationale for policy design and configuration changes to ensure they are defensible.
• Follow rigorous change management processes, including proposal, testing in QA environments, and review before production implementation.
• Collaborate with operations and governance teams to design appropriate protections in response to business alerts and identified risks.
• Support the implementation of DLP and data privacy initiatives across various channels.
• Contribute to the build-out of new data protection capabilities, rather than maintaining an existing framework.
• Work with technologies including CASB and DSPM, and pilot new tools like BigID and Cyera.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Proven experience in policy design and engineering, specifically building out data protection policies from the ground up.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry, with an understanding of the associated process rigor and change management requirements.
• Demonstrated ability in documenting engineering processes and creating defensible rationales for technical implementations.

Technical Skills

• Experience with data protection and DLP tools such as Symantec, Microsoft Purview, or Zscaler.
• Familiarity with CASB and DSPM concepts and technologies.
