Job summary

DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center) operates the STAR Center, a 24/7 behavioral health-focused shelter in Seattle. The Data / Project Assistant will manage data, reporting, and invoicing while supporting the STAR Center Project Manager in day-to-day operations, scheduling, and coordination with City partners and vendors.

The role requires extensive experience with HMIS, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic, service-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working with homeless, mentally ill, or substance using adults.
• Computer skills including data entry and word processing.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage HMIS and other data input and reporting requirements.
• Provide oversight to data collection, compliance and reporting activities.
• Monitor service and program data to track performance and compliance.
• Provide training and support to Center staff in data activities.
• Assist Project Manager with program operation tasks.
• Coordinate scheduling and orientation of on-call staff.
• Provide administrative support to hiring team and training new employees.
• Oversee inventory of supplies and coordinate vendor activities.
• Coordinate STAR Center meal service and transportation scheduling.
