Job summary

Sesame Workshop in New York is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science & Analytics to own data models and the analytics layer. You will serve as product owner for shared data assets and coordinate with BI partners to turn raw data into trusted dashboards.

This hands-on role blends data engineering, governance, and storytelling, with opportunities to grow into broader leadership as the data practice matures, and to partner with Marketing, Strategy, and Revenue teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data modeling, data transformation, or building shared data assets.
• Strong SQL proficiency, including writing and optimizing complex queries across large multi-source datasets.
• Python proficiency for data transformation, automation, and tooling, with version control (git).
• Hands-on experience with a data transformation framework (dbt preferred).
• Ownership of data quality and metric definitions, and maintaining a data dictionary as a product.
• Product-owner mindset for data: full landscape, documentation, and setting standards proactively rather than ad-hoc querying.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (statistics, economics, data science, CS, math, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Own the data models and documentation for key metrics across sources.
• Build and maintain dbt-based data models and transformation logic.
• Manage data quality and a catalog of active data models and metrics.
• Build and maintain shared datasets across source systems.
• Integrate data from multiple systems into unified datasets for reporting.
• Improve performance and reliability of the analytics layer; optimize pipelines.
• May perform other related duties as needed.
