Job summary

Subway is hiring a Director of Analytics Engineering to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable data models and curated data assets powering analytics and data products across the organization.

This role bridges Data Engineering and Analytics, ensuring trusted, well-modeled data for decision-making at scale. You will lead analytics engineering teams, collaborate with BI, product, and business stakeholders, and set engineering standards across platforms.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI development.
• Deep experience with the modern data stack (dbt, cloud warehouses, lakehouses).
• Strong SQL, data transformation and dimensional modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics engineering roadmap and data models for analytics and data products.
• Define standards for dimensional modeling, data marts, and semantic layers.
• Establish data quality, testing, and monitoring frameworks for enterprise data assets.
• Partner with product and BI teams to deliver curated, performant datasets.
• Lead adoption of analytics engineering tools and CI/CD for data models.
• Develop Analytics Engineers and senior ICs, setting goals and delivery expectations.
• Define and track KPIs for data reliability, model performance, and adoption.
