ID.me, located in Mountain View, CA, is looking for a Software Engineer III to join the Trust Service team. This team operates the core infrastructure that manages identity verification for millions.

The ideal candidate will design and evolve REST APIs, write complex database queries, and continuously improve the correctness, performance, and reliability of our services. Candidates with strong backend service engineering skills in Java and SQL will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with a strong emphasis on backend service engineering.
• Experience designing and versioning REST APIs backed by OpenAPI specifications.
• Deep comfort with relational databases and working within a production database schema.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve the Trust Service API end-to-end.
• Write and review complex SQL queries against ID.me's identity graph.
• Ensure trust reads and writes are correct under concurrent load.
