Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Tech Lead Manager VI to lead the engineering team for the Workforce domain, including employment verification and onboarding integrations. You will own both the technical architecture and people leadership for a high-impact B2B platform used by enterprise HR systems and government partners.

Based in Mountain View, CA, you will partner with Product, Legal, Security, and partners to balance velocity with compliance, mentor engineers, and drive AI-enabled practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a management/tech-lead role.
• 5+ years building secure, scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• Experience with enterprise data integrations and B2B workflows.
• Strong knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Legal/Compliance, Security.
• Excellent communication skills to explain engineering decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the Workforce Platform Architecture and integrations with HR systems.
• Lead roadmap delivery and unblock blockers to ensure timely releases.
• Design employment verification APIs and data workflows.
• Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Serve as technical bridge between Engineering, Product, Legal/Compliance and Security.
• Ensure availability, performance, and compliance of Workforce services.
• Inform planning with market opportunities and technical strategy.
• Champion AI-first practices to improve code generation and testing.
