Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a Tech Lead Manager for the Data BP team to lead data engineers, scale one of the world's largest data platforms and drive end-to-end data solutions in the US. You will ensure reliability, governance and collaboration across Product, Analytics and Engineering, impacting hundreds of millions of users.

You will oversee architectural standards, data modeling, and quality frameworks while aligning delivery with strategic objectives and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms in large scale distributed data systems with at least 3+ years in engineering leadership.
• Hands on experience with Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Druid, ClickHouse and similar tech.
• Deep understanding of data lakes, warehouses and lakehouse patterns.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for data processing and analytics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of data engineers, fostering technical excellence and ownership.
• Oversee project management and cross-functional collaboration for high-quality delivery.
• Design and build scalable data platforms and services for batch and real-time processing.
• Define architecture standards including data modeling and data quality frameworks.
• Own end-to-end delivery from design to deployment and optimization.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science and Engineering to translate requirements.
• Define metrics and use data to guide prioritization and decisions.
• Optimize large-scale data systems for performance, scalability and cost.
• Establish governance and ensure data privacy and security.
• Communicate technical concepts and data insights to technical and executive audiences.
