Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC seeks a Tech Lead Manager for the Data BP team in the USDS data platform. You will lead a group of data engineers to maintain, optimize and scale one of the world’s largest data platforms that support TikTok in the US, guiding end-to-end delivery and governance.

In this role you partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science and Engineering, translating business needs into scalable data solutions while focusing on performance, reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms in large scale distributed data systems with at least 3+ years of experience in engineering leadership or engineering management role overseeing technical teams.
• Hands on experience in building scalable data solutions with big data processing and distributed storage engines such as Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Druid, ClickHouse etc.
• Deep understanding of modern data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses and lakehouse patterns.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing and analytics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership and continuous improvement.
• Oversee project management and cross functional collaboration ensuring high quality delivery across project lifecycle.
• Design and build scalable big data platforms, pipelines and services supporting large-scale batch and real-time data processing.
• Define and drive architecture standards, including data modeling, pipeline design and data quality frameworks to ensure trusted datasets.
• Own end-to-end delivery of data solutions from design through development, testing, deployment and optimization.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Define key metrics and leverage data to measure performance, guide prioritization and support decision making.
• Optimize large-scale data processing systems for performance, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Establish strong execution practices, including planning, prioritization and delivery governance across multiple initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy and security standards in all data solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts and data insights effectively to both technical and executive audiences.
