Job summary

VC5 Consulting in Houston, TX, is seeking a capable Data Support Engineer to provide Level 1 and 2 support for mission-critical data pipelines in a fast-paced trading environment. You will help keep data platforms reliable, triage incidents, and collaborate with application teams and business users across regions.

You will monitor pipeline health with modern dashboards, perform routine operational tasks, and participate in on-call rotations, including after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 3+ years in application support, preferably in trading/finance.
• Strong L1/L2 support, incident management, and service desk basics.
• Experience with data warehouses, ETL, and real-time feeds.
• Python read/write for data quality; strong SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide L1 and L2 support for data pipelines and triage incidents.
• Monitor pipeline health with dashboards; resolve issues promptly.
• Escalate complex issues with clear documentation to L3.
• Maintain runbooks and knowledge bases.
• Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support.
