Manager – Data Platform & Cloud Transformation

Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Data Platform Manager to fill an open position with one of our clients in the financial services industry. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a data technology professional who is passionate about cloud transformation, data governance, and building high-performing teams. In this role, you will lead a team of platform engineers responsible for modernizing enterprise data platforms and driving strategic cloud migration initiatives. Working closely with senior technology and data leaders, you will influence the future-state data ecosystem while enabling next-generation analytics and business capabilities. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with people management and strategic planning responsibilities, offering the chance to shape scalable, secure, and governed data solutions that support critical business functions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of platform engineers and contractors while managing resource allocation and delivery priorities
• Drive enterprise cloud data platform initiatives, including data warehouse modernization, cloud migrations, and platform innovation
• Partner with architects, data governance teams, and business stakeholders to design and implement scalable data solutions that support reporting and analytics needs
• Maintain platform stability, operational excellence, and roadmap execution while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement and emerging technology adoption
• Help define and execute the data technology roadmap while overseeing cloud-based data initiatives across technology and business functions

The ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience managing data warehouse or data platform teams
• Proven experience implementing enterprise-scale cloud data solutions and migration strategies
• Strong knowledge of AWS technologies including Lambda, S3, EC2, IAM, and related cloud-native services
• Experience with ETL and data movement tools such as AWS Glue, Informatica, or IBM InfoSphere
• Understanding of data governance, data management practices, data quality, and enterprise data architecture
• Experience with DevOps methodologies, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and software development practices using Python, Java, Scala, or C/C++
• Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
