Job description

We are seeking a Data Platform Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the engineering, automation, governance, and operational management of modern data platforms and analytics technologies. This role combines cross-functional leadership with deep technical expertise in cloud-based data platforms, Infrastructure-as-Code, DevOps practices, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of platform and systems engineers responsible for enterprise data and analytics platforms.
• Drive the architecture, automation, and operational management of cloud-based data platforms and analytical technologies.
• Oversee Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) initiatives, ensuring scalable, repeatable, and secure platform deployments.
• Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure automation, including module management and platform provisioning.
• Establish and enforce platform governance standards, including security controls, access management, and operational best practices.
• Manage data platform cost optimization initiatives and FinOps governance processes.
• Oversee database object management, user provisioning, role-based access controls, and security administration.
• Ensure proper handling and protection of sensitive and regulated data, including PII.
• Drive CI/CD adoption and DevOps best practices across platform engineering teams.
• Establish monitoring, operational metrics, and continuous improvement processes for platform reliability and performance.

Must-Haves

• 10+ Years of professional experience in Data Platform Engineering.
• 3+ Years of professional experience leading and managing Data Platform Engineering teams.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake administration and platform management, or supporting Google BigQuery enterprise data analytics environments.
• Strong DevOps Engineering background with adept experience building CI/CD pipelines at‑scale.
• Advanced Terraform experience, including infrastructure provisioning, automation, module management, and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.
• Experience managing database objects, user access, security roles, and platform governance.
• Strong understanding of FinOps principles, cost management, and financial governance.
• Experience implementing and managing security controls for sensitive data, including PII.
• Experience building and maintaining automated platform operations and deployment processes.

• Experience creating custom Terraform modules.
• Experience supporting large‑scale analytics and reporting ecosystems.
