Job summary

Underscore Marketing seeks a hands-on Data Architecture & Data Engineering Leader to design and run a scalable data platform across reporting and products. You will own enterprise data architecture, mentor a growing team, and partner with executives to turn business needs into governed data solutions.

The role requires cloud expertise (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift), strong SQL/Python, and leadership across time zones. Remote-first US-based with EST-friendly hours preferred.

Qualifications

• 16+ years in data engineering or data architecture, including leadership experience.
• Proven track record designing scalable cloud data platforms.
• Hands-on skills in SQL and Python, data modeling and ETL tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise data architecture roadmap and standards.
• Lead data engineers and analysts across multiple time zones.
• Design scalable batch and streaming pipelines and data products.
• Oversee data governance, security, privacy and compliance.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions.
