Job summary

One Pass Solutions is seeking a Head of Data to build and scale a data organization across data engineering, analytics, and data science. You will define a clear data vision, own the architecture, and drive strategic capabilities that turn data into a product differentiator.

You’ll lead a nine-person team and collaborate with engineering leadership to set standards, while hands-on influencing design decisions that shape the platform’s evolution.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or data platforms, with scaling experience.
• 3+ years of people management, hiring, and coaching engineers, analysts, data scientists, or other technical professionals.
• Experience defining data architecture, platform strategy, and engineering standards.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and relational database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on software experience with Python and modern programming languages.
• Experience with modern cloud data platforms and warehouse technologies (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks).
• Experience designing and operating scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Experience using GitHub or similar source control in distributed teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation of data from reporting and analytics into a strategic product capability.
• Define and drive the company’s data vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Build and develop a high-performing data organization across data engineering, analytics, and data science.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to translate objectives into scalable data solutions.
• Guide the data platform's technical direction with the Staff Data Engineer and establish standards.
• Evolve practices around data quality, governance, security, observability, and validation.
• Lead cloud-based data infrastructure on AWS, balancing scalability and cost.
• Invest in data platforms, tooling, and processes to accelerate product development.
• Serve on the engineering leadership team and influence technology strategy.
