Job summary

Built is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Data to lead a growing data organization. You will guide engineers building a holistic real estate data engine powering analytics, decisioning, and self‑serve analytics.

You’ll define architecture for ingestion, transformation, governance, and data products, and partner cross‑functionally to enable outcomes. The role combines hands‑on contribution with strategic leadership, focusing on reliability, security, and scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an engineering management role leading fast‑growth teams.
• Direct experience leading a data engineering or data platform team.
• Proven ability to scale teams and systems through hiring, process, architecture, and delivery.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Hands‑on familiarity with Snowflake, DBT, or Sigma; data platforms and self‑serve analytics.
• Willingness to travel ~5–6 times per year, including Nashville, TN visits.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the data engineering team with a player‑coach leadership style.
• Own the data platform strategy including ingestion, modeling, governance, and data products.
• Deliver high‑quality, observable, secure, and scalable data pipelines and models.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Security, and Engineering to drive business outcomes.
• Be hands‑on when needed, participating in architecture reviews and design.
