Job summary

Built is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Data to lead our growing data organization. You will guide a high-impact team building the industry’s first holistic real estate data engine that powers analytics, decisioning, workflow automation, and new product capabilities across our platform.

This hands-on, player-coach leader sets technical direction, grows talent, and delivers durable systems at scale while partnering closely with Product, Analytics, and Engineering peers to drive outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering management leading fast-growth teams.
• Direct data engineering or data platform leadership experience.
• Ability to scale teams and systems via hiring, architecture, delivery.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with tech and non-tech stakeholders.
• Hands-on with data platforms (ELT, modeling, governance, self-serve analytics).
• Willingness to travel ~5–6 times per year including Nashville connections.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the data team with clear expectations and career development.
• Own data platform strategy: ingestion, transformation, governance, data products.
• Define roadmaps balancing foundational work with product delivery needs.
• Ensure high-quality pipelines: observable, secure, scalable, reliable.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Security, and Engineering leaders.
• Be a hands-on player-coach: occasional implementation and architecture reviews.
