Job summary

Beyond Finance is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to own the architecture and operational excellence of our production data systems. You will direct pipelines, datastores, and integrations, collaborating with leadership to translate goals into concrete work for a fast-growing fintech platform.

You’ll guide replication, ETL/ELT tooling, and production Postgres databases, ensuring data accuracy, timeliness, and reliability while mentoring the team and driving durable fixes after incidents.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production data systems.
• Ability to set direction for a team and own technical roadmap.
• Strong SQL, query optimization, and schema design experience.
• Experience with replication and ETL/ELT tooling (Fivetran, Informatica, Airbyte).
• Proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure data services.
• Comfort with Ruby on Rails or similar language.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical roadmap for pipelines, integrations, and datastores.
• Translate broad goals into concrete work for the team to execute.
• Maintain standards: infra-as-code, observability, testing, on-call practices, incident response.
• Guide replication pipelines syncing Salesforce data to Aurora and Postgres.
• Oversee production Postgres databases, performance, indexing, and access control.
• Lead outbound/inbound data pipelines with validation and reprocessing.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar through code reviews.
