Job summary

ServiceNow in the United States is seeking a Sr. Manager, Data Platform to lead a 6–10 person engineering team. You will own delivery, people leadership, and technical direction for the platform domain across cloud-native services.

You will set priorities with product leadership, drive reliability with SLOs, and collaborate with principal engineers to align with platform architecture. A strong, inclusive culture helps the team raise the engineering bar.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building production software and distributed systems.
• 5+ years managing software engineers with hiring and coaching experience.
• Hands-on in Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms and autoscaling.
• Experience delivering complex, business-critical systems end-to-end.
• Hands-on with major hyperscalers (AWS/Azure/GCP) and their primitives.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and coach a team of engineers building core platform services.
• Own end-to-end delivery, priorities, and roadmap with product leadership.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and operability with SLOs and on-call.
• Partner with engineers and workload teams to align architecture and standards.
• Review designs and code to guide technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Foster a high-trust, inclusive engineering culture and enable career growth.
• Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs to leadership and stakeholders.
