Job summary

CarGurus is seeking a Data Platform Engineer Intern for the Data Engineering team to support a modern data warehousing platform during a period of growth. This 11-week, full-time internship runs June–August 2027 with a hybrid model in Boston, MA, requiring about three days per week in the office.

You'll gain hands-on experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Airflow, and Terraform, collaborating with cross-functional teams and refining data infrastructure while learning

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, IS, Data Management, or related field.
• Interest in data engineering and scalable data pipelines.
• Exposure to ETL/ELT processes and data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Understand and contribute to the evolving data and analytics stack.
• Assist in building robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL.
• Write clean, testable data pipeline code with proper error handling.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop testing.
• Work with upstream producers and downstream consumers.
• Assist in deploying and managing data infrastructure with Terraform.
