CoStar Group in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer for the Data Automation team in Richmond, VA. You will build distributed, API-driven systems used by thousands of users and work with React JS, C#, .NET, AWS, and SQL Server.

The role emphasizes understanding the business, leading design and standards, and evaluating new technologies. The position offers in-office Monday-Thursday with remote Fridays and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, in-person university or college.
• 4+ years of experience in React JS, JavaScript.
• 4+ years of experience in C#, .NET Framework & Web API 2.0 Development.
• 3+ years of experience in MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL design/performance tuning.
• Experience in architecting large-scale distributed systems in agile environments.
• Understanding of AI technologies and hands-on tooling experience (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot).
• Data modeling experience.
• Track record of commitment to prior employers.

Responsibilities

• Build big, distributed, API-driven systems for thousands of users.
• Produce robust, maintainable code using React JS, C#, .NET, AWS, SQL Server.
• Drive and lead software design, development standards, code reviews.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform.
