Job summary

TikTok is seeking a Data Engineer for the Data Platform E‑Commerce team in Seattle to build, optimize, and grow one of the world's largest data platforms. You will work across systems that power core products and hundreds of millions of users.

You will design transformations, implement scalable data pipelines, and promote best engineering practices for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. This role offers exposure to large-scale systems in a fast‑growing tech company.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Metastore, Presto, Flume, Kafka, ClickHouse, Flink).
• Experience with data analysis, data ingestion and data integration.
• Experience with ETL and architecting data systems.
• Experience with schema design, data modeling and SQL queries.
• Passionate and self-motivated about technologies in the Big Data area.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data transformations efficiently and reliably for reporting and analysis.
• Design and implement reliable, scalable big data systems that support core products.
• Establish solid design and best engineering practices for engineers and non-technical people.
