Job summary

Slalom, a data architecture and engineering consultancy, is hiring a Data Engineer to join collaborative teams delivering scalable solutions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

You will design data platforms, translate complex requirements into development tasks, and ensure timely, high‑quality delivery while working across streaming, data warehousing, and AI–accelerated data engineering.

Qualifications

• Curious mindset and willingness to learn; fearless experimentation.
• Self-starter who breaks large problems into smaller tasks and shares knowledge.
• 4+ years building data engineering solutions in production environments with modern data tech.
• Cloud Platforms & Warehouses — Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Synapse Analytics, EMR.
• Big Data & Streaming — Spark, Presto, Databricks, Kinesis, Kafka.
• Programming Languages — Python, Java (OO).

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing components of clients’ data platform solutions under guidance of a Solution Architect.
• Translating complex requirements into actionable development tasks.
• Ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery of development items for you and your team.
• Building solutions using modern data technologies: cloud data warehouses, distributed processing engines, event streaming, and more.
• Working across data engineering disciplines including streaming, modern data platforms, data architecture, and AI‑accelerated data engineering.
