Job summary

NYC Department of Finance's Property Valuation and Tax Mapping division seeks a Deputy Director of Data Modernization & Exemption Analytics. You will lead SCHE, DHE, and SCRIE/DRIE exemption analysis, supervise staff, and advance modeling workflows for property classifications.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will develop analytical tools, dashboards, and reusable libraries, promote reproducible analytics, and ensure accuracy through rigorous validation and documentation.

Qualifications

• A master's degree or higher in a relevant field; for higher assignment levels a doctoral degree may be required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead analytical projects and validate data outputs.
• Experience with open-source analytics and reproducible workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead for exemption analysis (SCHE, DHE, SCRIE/DRIE) and validate data and outputs.
• Supervise staff through code reviews and modeling validation to promote best practices.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and internal libraries.
