We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Modeler to support a strategic Home Lending Data Modernization and Regulatory Reporting Transformation initiative. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-scale data models that support Mortgage Origination, Mortgage Servicing, Home Lending Analytics, Risk Management, and FR Y-14M Regulatory Reporting within a modern Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in banking and mortgage data domains, strong data modeling capabilities, and hands‑on experience delivering data solutions for large-scale regulatory reporting and cloud modernization programs. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, regulatory reporting teams, data architects, governance teams, and data engineering teams to establish scalable, governed, and reusable data assets that drive regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and advanced analytics.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $115k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Home Lending, Mortgage, and Regulatory Reporting domains.
- Develop scalable, cloud-native data models optimized for Google BigQuery and enterprise reporting platforms.
- Design canonical, harmonized, and reusable data structures across multiple source systems.
- Establish data relationships, business rules, hierarchies, cardinality, and metadata standards.
- Support enterprise data architecture initiatives by defining standardized data domains and data products.
Regulatory Reporting & FR Y-14M
- Analyze and model data requirements supporting FR Y-14M Mortgage Reporting and related regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable data models and reporting structures.

- Design data models across Raw, Curated, Business, and Reporting layers.
- Collaborate with Data Architects and Data Engineers to implement modern cloud-based architecture patterns.
- Define reusable reporting datasets and data products that enable self-service analytics and regulatory reporting.
Data Governance & Quality
- Establish enterprise data standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices.
- Define and maintain business metadata, technical metadata, and reference data structures.
- Collaborate with Governance and Control teams to implement:

- Ensure compliance with enterprise governance policies and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Regulatory Reporting Teams, Data Architects, Risk Managers, and Data Engineers.
- Lead data discovery sessions, data profiling activities, and model review workshops.
- Present and socialize data model designs with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Provide subject matter expertise on mortgage data, regulatory reporting, and data management best practices.
Requirements:
- Experience in Data Modeling, Data Architecture, or Data Management.
- Solid experience within Banking, Financial Services, Mortgage Lending, or Regulatory Reporting domains.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale Data Warehouse Modernization or Cloud Transformation programs.
- Strong experience in Home Lending, Mortgage Servicing, Loan Origination, and Regulatory Reporting data domains.
- Hands‑on experience supporting FR Y-14M or similar regulatory reporting initiatives.
