Trilogy has an extensive history helping federal clients achieve their most ambitious business modernization and optimization goals with the ability to deliver targeted subject matter expertise and full life cycle support.
Trilogy Federal is seeking a Data Migration Specialist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented technical expert with specialized skills in data migration and enterprise asset management, thriving in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This role requires a collaborative, problem-solving professional to join our team, ensuring the successful transfer and integration of data into VA corporate IT systems, including legacy applications and modernized environments leveraging IBM Maximo.
The selected Data Migration Specialist must hold an active Certified Maximo Deployment Professional certification and bring expertise in migrating data to support VA's operational needs and the Veteran-focused Integration Process (VIP) Lean-Agile framework. This position will focus on ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility during migrations, delivering high-quality outcomes for VA stakeholders.
Please note this position is contingent upon award (Q2/Q3 2025), and may require occasional customer site visits in D.C.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Plan, execute, and validate data migrations for VA corporate IT systems, transferring data from legacy systems to IBM Maximo and other modern platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, SQL Server).
  • Configure and customize IBM Maximo deployments to support data migration, ensuring alignment with VA's enterprise asset management and operational requirements.
  • Develop and implement data migration strategies, including mapping, transformation, cleansing, and validation processes to maintain data integrity and quality.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects, Cloud Engineers, and DevOps teams to integrate migrated data into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) workflows and Agile delivery cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with VA security and privacy standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST 800-53, HIPAA), applying encryption, access controls, and auditing during data migration activities.
  • Utilize VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow) to document migration plans, track progress, and contribute to Biweekly Status Reports on data migration status and issues.
  • Perform data profiling, testing, and reconciliation post-migration, resolving discrepancies and ensuring seamless functionality for VA end-users and systems.
  • Support the VIP Lean-Agile framework by aligning data migration efforts with sprint goals and delivering incremental value during Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, reviews).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data migration challenges, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of VA corporate services during transitions.
  • Work with VA stakeholders, including the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), to define migration requirements, validate outcomes, and deliver Veteran-centric solutions.
  • Mentor team members on Maximo data migration techniques and best practices, contributing to Trilogy's staff development and technical expertise initiatives.
  • Assess and mitigate risks related to data migration, ensuring adaptability to evolving VA priorities and technical standards.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Certified Maximo Deployment Professional certification required.
  • 8+ years of experience in data migration, database management, or a related role, with a focus on federal or VA IT environments.
  • Proven expertise in migrating data to IBM Maximo and other enterprise systems, with hands-on experience in SQL, ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica), and cloud platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ensure data accuracy, security, and performance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with VA security standards (e.g., FISMA, NIST, HIPAA) and the VIP Lean-Agile framework is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint) and VA-approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow).
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technical requirements and travel occasionally to VA sites in Washington, D.C., as needed.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's preferred
  • Additional certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, or SAFe Agilist preferred.
Benefits (including but not limited to):
  • Health, dental, and vision plans
  • Optional FSA
