Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Data Management professional to guide the implementation of the Data Management Program within a designated business unit in Buffalo, NY. You will train personnel, lead data governance groups, and ensure policy compliance while driving data quality and value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience, or a combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical ability.
• Creative problem solving and strong project management leadership.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams at various levels.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, graphing and presentations; knowledge of financial models.

Responsibilities

• Manage implementation of the Data Management Program within the assigned unit.
• Provide training to business line and technology personnel.
• Facilitate data management work groups and monitor compliance with policies.
• Identify critical data elements and capture related metadata.
• Monitor data quality and KPIs/KRIs for data risk management.
• Facilitate remediation of data management issues within units.
• Analyze large datasets to derive business insights and value.
• Demonstrate data management and BI tool usage to stakeholders.
• Adhere to risk and regulatory standards and escalate issues as needed.
• Support an environment aligned with the M&T Bank brand and internal controls.
