Talantir is seeking a Data Literacy Instructional Specialist II to lead the design and delivery of learning content for a company-wide Power BI rollout. The role focuses on enabling both analytics and non-analytics professionals to use Power BI effectively in daily work.

You will collaborate with data literacy leadership and analytics SMEs to create engaging materials, leveraging tools like Adobe Suite, Camtasia, and Storyline to support enterprise adoption across Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computational, mathematical, or science-related field or data-related background, Master’s preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in training and supervision, instructional design or related fields.
• 4–5 years of experience in data and analytics including data science and BI topics.
• Experience with visual and instructional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Vyond, Captivate, Articulate/Storyline.

Title: Data Literacy Instructional Specialist II

Location: Philadelphia, PA (remote)

Our direct client is seeking an experienced Data Literacy Instructional Specialist to support an enterprise-wide launch of Power BI, with a primary focus on designing and developing high quality learning content. The role is centered on enabling both analytics and non analytics professionals—ranging from data consumers to aspiring Power BI developers—to effectively use Power BI in their day to day work.

This role will work closely with project leadership, the data literacy program leadership team, and analytics and Power BI subject matter experts to design and deliver learning experiences that align with the overall strategy and objectives of the initiative. The Data Literacy Instructional Specialist will translate complex Power BI and BI concepts into clear, engaging, and accessible instructional materials.

The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on experience with Power BI and its integration across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and the Power Platform), as well as experience supporting enterprise BI rollouts, self-service analytics, and user adoption. Strong instructional design skills and experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Articulate / Storyline, Vyond, or Captivate are also important.

This role is temporary and fully remote.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of learning objectives, then determine how to leverage design and technology to achieve and deliver on those objectives.
• Identify new program initiative opportunities for the Data Literacy Program and/or analytics tool-specific training.
• Serve as a Data Literacy subject matter expert on a national platform through networking, conference presentations/attendance and participation in workgroups.
• Own the delivery and lifecycle of one pillar of work for the Data Literacy program. This includes impact metrics, ROI reporting, and executive summary development.
• Perform discovery and suitability assessment of existing educational resources (within and outside the enterprise) for specific assigned instructional topics. Expand upon the existing base of educational materials into sustainable Data Literacy resources that can be leveraged across the organization and span multiple learner personas.
• Participate in Data Literacy marketing events, such as speaking engagements, blog posts, and other creative channels that support the promotion of the Data Literacy Program.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of customer needs and learning challenges by conducting user interviews.
• Improve existing or lead the development of new Data Literacy products (courses, curriculum, learning modules, and learning personas) based on emerging need or new data best practices.
• Use instructional design best practices and tools to create trainings and meet the learners where they are in their data literacy journey.
• Proactively partner with data subject matter experts across the enterprise to develop, revise, and / or validate training content.
• Provide weekly to daily delivery or facilitation of virtual and in-person training on Data Literacy topics to diverse learning communities, from support staff to clinical workers and executives.
• Build trusting relationships with data learners that meets them where they are and empowers them to continue to grow in their profession.
• Conduct pilot tests and make continuous product improvements to material based on pilots, reviews, and other formative evaluations.
• Delight learners across the enterprise and ensure that the learners' experience is being constantly improved.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computational, mathematical, or science-related field or a data-related background. A Master's degree is preferred.
• 2 - 5 years of experience in training and supervision, instructional design, classroom instruction, eLearning, curriculum development, etc.
• 4 - 5 years of experience in data and analytics including data science, data analytics, statistical programming, data integration, data management, biostatistics, software development, etc. (or education equivalent).
• At least one (1) year of experience in visual and instructional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Vyond, Captivate, Articulate, Storyline, etc.
• Demonstrated appreciation of diversity and affinity for interacting with people of varying backgrounds and perspectives.
• Energetic presenter, comfortable engaging large groups of learners in professional workshops and training sessions.
• Exemplary skills in technology and facile in utilizing zoom, teams, and other online collaboration tools.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, well organized, excellent writing and communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills to motivate and lead others.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the implementation and evaluation of training programs (university, corporate, organization-wide programs / plans).
• Instructional design methodologies, E-learning strategies, LMS management, computer-based training development skills.
