Job summary

Mars Incorporated's Accelerator division seeks an Analytics and Intelligence Engineer to design, develop, and enhance Mars Accelerator reporting, semantic modelling, and intelligence capabilities.

You will partner with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders across sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance to translate complex requirements into dependable data models and actionable dashboards.

Qualifications

• 3-6+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering, delivering reliable data models and production dashboards.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Core Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL; experience building and optimizing dimensional models (Star Schemas) and analytical tables.
• Core Technical Skills: Practical experience with dbt, Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Services.
• Core Technical Skills: Hands-on experience developing dashboards in Power BI or Tableau.
• Core Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Python or R for exploratory analysis, data transformation, or automation.
• Core Technical Skills: Git workflows, pull requests, and automated testing (dbt test).
• Core Technical Skills: Exposure to Unity Catalog and workflow orchestration (Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory).
• Experience in CPG/retail/manufacturing environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional business stakeholders and engineering peers to build consistent KPI dashboards and reliable data assets.
• Build, test, and maintain robust data models and semantic layers (Star Schemas) serving as a single source of truth.
• Collaborate with data scientists to incorporate predictive models and anomaly detection into dashboards.
• Follow modern software engineering practices for data, including version control, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Create well-documented, certified datasets and guide business users to self-serve data.
• Maintain high standards for data accuracy, testing, and governance (Unity Catalog).
• Act as a hands-on resource for BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau) and develop performant dashboards.
• Participate in agile planning, sprint execution, and backlog refinement.
