Job summary

Vantage Data Centers in Denver, CO (hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days flexible) seeks a mid-level Data Infrastructure and Systems Specialist to support the Utility Billing team. You will ensure reliable ingestion of meter data from BMS/Ignition into PostgreSQL and SQL Server, coordinating with Construction, Site Operations, and IT Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience supporting production databases, data systems, or data-intensive applications.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for reporting, data validation, troubleshooting, and reconciliation.
• Working proficiency in Python and Bash; experience with Golang and Java is a plus.
• Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Lake, CI/CD practices, and Liquibase.
• Understanding of data pipelines, data quality controls, and performance considerations.
• Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database tables, views, and procedures with DBA and GSD coordination.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for high-volume meter-data analysis and reporting.
• Automate workflows and backend services to support utility billing operations.
• Monitor end-to-end data pipelines from site meters to PostgreSQL/SQL Server inventories.
• Validate data flow and meter readings for completeness and accuracy.
• Coordinate onboarding of new buildings and ensure billing-readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data issues and improve processes.
