Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Data Governance Specialist to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of organizational data. You will help develop and uphold a comprehensive governance framework, work with data stewards, manage data assets, and enable data-driven decisions while coordinating across the UT System.

Hybrid work is available and the ideal candidate has 1–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in administrative, regulatory, data management, business administration, or related field.
• One to three years of paid full-time professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and security.
• Collaborate with data stewards and stakeholders to establish governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collect and analyze data, generate reports, and support data modeling and data warehouse development.
• Monitor data quality and integrity and resolve issues with relevant teams.
• Develop metrics for data quality, governance activities, and compliance.
• Maintain an inventory of data assets and promote governance practices across units.
• Coordinate with IT, Information Security, and academic units to promote governance principles.
• Facilitate training sessions and support processes related to data use agreements and sharing agreements.
