Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Manager of Data Governance to drive policy execution, quality, and compliance across our data program. You will partner with the EDGM team to ensure data products are trusted, discoverable, and aligned with business goals.

You will lead governance tooling, data cataloging, and quality rule development, while mentoring analysts and coordinating with risk, business lines, and technology teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in data governance or data management
• Understanding of DCAM, data catalogs, lineage, and quality concepts
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required
• Strong leadership to support junior staff and cross-functional work
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data platforms like Snowflake or Oracle

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day data governance activities within the business line
• Manage Alation Cloud Services tooling and data product execution
• Develop data quality rules, track lineage, and provide dashboards
• Coordinate reporting inputs for senior leadership updates
• Guide change management and adoption of governance policies
• Collaborate with EDGM team and risk partners across the organization
• Mentor junior analysts and ensure high-quality data execution
