Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking a Data Governance Lead to mature governance across the organization. You will partner with Data Owners and Data Stewards to define critical data and improve quality, supporting trusted data.

The role requires hands-on experience with data governance, data quality, and data lineage tools, plus SQL/Python/R/Power BI skills. Offices in NY, Iselin, Stamford, West Hartford, or Chicago with hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Extensive P&C and specialty insurance knowledge with cross-functional experience.
• 8+ years in data governance, data management, or related discipline.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills to influence leaders and stakeholders.
• Experience defining Critical Data Elements and standardizing definitions across global orgs.
• Hands-on with data governance tooling and data lineage tooling; SQL/Python/R/Power BI proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as day-to-day liaison between Data Governance, IT, and business stakeholder groups.
• Define, certify, maintain, and improve Critical Data Elements with Data Owners/Stewards.
• Translate objectives into governance outcomes: data definitions, ownership models, quality controls.
• Lead data quality monitoring and sessions to drive ownership and accountability.
• Promote collaboration across technical and business partners for governance practices.
