Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Jersey City seeks an experienced Control Manager for Data Governance to establish and enhance the control environment for data initiatives.

You will collaborate with the CDAO, CDO stakeholders, and control partners to ensure robust governance and risk mitigation across data platforms. Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in controls/risk within financial services, strong knowledge of governance standards, and the ability to translate complex topics into actionable controls and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of financial services experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.
• Knowledge of control and risk management concepts and risk and control self-assessment.
• Experience identifying data-related risks and mitigating controls.
• Familiarity with data governance standards and regulatory requirements such as BCBS 239.
• Strong understanding of three lines of defense in banking and related frameworks.
• Independent, proactive, and able to communicate complex topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and improve the control environment for Data Governance initiatives.
• Manage firmwide common processes, risks, and controls for Data Governance and reflect in CORE.
• Identify, assess, document key risks and controls with CDO stakeholders; ensure controls are implemented and recorded.
• Serve as SME on data governance policies and provide guidance to stakeholders and control partners.
• Support development and adoption of firmwide common controls in standards and procedures.
• Lead risk assessments for Data Governance initiatives and track findings in CORE.
• Verify controls are reflected in CDAO and across LOBs/CFs using CORE expertise.
• Drive data quality, governance, and reporting improvements with leadership and partners.
• Foster a community of practice for Data-related Control Managers and stakeholders.
