Advance Local is seeking a Data Governance Specialist - Technology based in Jersey City, NJ. The role is primarily remote with some in-office attendance and reports to the Director of Risk, Compliance & Support.

You will lead data governance, risk controls, and compliance monitoring to safeguard information and enable data-driven decisions. You will partner with engineering, security, and business teams to define standards for PII, metadata, and retention, produce dashboards, and support DPIAs

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 3–5 years in GRC, data governance, data management, or a related role.
• Experience leading and coordinating cross-discipline project teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
• Understanding of online privacy issues and challenges.

Responsabilidades

• Partner with business teams to define, document, and maintain data governance and quality procedures.
• Coordinate data classification, dictionaries, metadata, and lineage documentation.
• Define and enforce standards for PII handling and data retention across environments.
• Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on data governance.
• Conduct and maintain Risk Assessments and DPIAs as required by privacy laws.
• Generate reports and dashboards to track governance performance and compliance.
• Collaborate with Cyber, Infrastructure Security, Data Engineering, and Enterprise Services on governance.
• Support data quality initiatives across revenue and audience data.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline processes.
