Job summary

Barrington James is seeking a Data Entry Technician to enter prescriptions, generate labels and invoices, and handle payments in a busy pharmacy onsite in Western Washington.

This full-time role requires an active WA Pharmacy Technician license, 1+ year data entry experience, fast typing, strong phone manners, and experience with pharmacy management software; schedule Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm.

Qualifications

• Active WA Pharmacy Technician license with no restrictions.
• 1+ year pharmacy data entry experience; compounding or specialty pharmacy a plus.
• Strong phone manner and written communication.
• Confident with pharmacy management software and card payment processing.
• Fast, accurate typing and ability to juggle a busy queue.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming prescriptions for completeness and enter them accurately into the pharmacy management system to generate labels and invoices.
• Verify patient, prescriber and payment information and process patient payments.
• Communicate with prescriber offices on refill authorizations, clarifications and missing information.
• Take inbound patient calls for refills, order status and general questions, and route or relay messages as needed.
• Work under the supervision of a pharmacist and escalate clinical questions appropriately.
• Support large-account and clinic orders and cross-train in fulfillment as needed.
• Maintain an organized workspace and accurate records.

Job description

The Data Entry Technician is the first point of contact for prescribers and patients, owning accurate prescription entry and billing for compounded preparations. The Pharmacy is adding headcount to this team, so it suits a technician who is quick and accurate on a keyboard and enjoys working the phones.

Location: Western Washington, across Puget Sound from Seattle.

Onsite

Full Time - Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm

Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Active WA Pharmacy Technician license with no restrictions; national certification(PTCB CPhT or ExCPT) preferred
• Will consider a WA-registered Pharmacy Assistant with strong prior data entry experience
• 1+ year pharmacy data entry experience; compounding or specialty pharmacy a plus
• Confident with pharmacy management software, Microsoft Office and card payment processing
• Strong phone manner and written communication
• Fast, accurate typing and the ability to juggle a busy queue
