Tire Rack is seeking a Sr. Manager, Data Engineering to lead the strategy and evolution of our enterprise data capabilities from South Bend, IN. You will guide a team of engineers and technical leaders and drive the modernization of our data platform using Databricks and AWS.

This role shapes how data is built, governed, and delivered at scale, turning major technology investments into meaningful business impact. You will champion modern engineering practices and build a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of people leadership (supervisor/manager) experience.
• Minimum 8 years in data engineering, data platforms, or related field.
• Proven success modernizing or migrating cloud data platforms with business impact.
• Deep Databricks and AWS data architecture expertise (security, governance, integration).
• Ability to lead budget, headcount, and resource planning.
• Ability to influence Directors and executives and build consensus.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and cross‑functional relationship building.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Business acumen aligned with organizational priorities and strategy.
• Experience driving organizational transformation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set vision and strategy for Data Engineering with a connected roadmap.
• Lead a high‑performing Data Engineering team including senior engineers.
• Drive modernization to Databricks lakehouse architecture.
• Own long‑term data platform roadmap for Databricks and AWS.
• Promote modern engineering practices and measurable business value.
• Build a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
• Develop future leaders and bench strength for increased scope.
• Establish engineering standards and an operating model for scale.
• Lead data integration and governance, ensuring security and quality.
• Partner with Business Data Intelligence to turn priorities into data products.
• Communicate platform strategy, progress, risks, and results to executives.
• Own platform reliability, performance, and cost management.
• Lead budget planning, headcount forecasting, and resource strategy.
• Monitor KPIs and collaborate across departments to remove roadblocks.
• Stay ahead of data technologies and industry trends.
• Perform additional duties to support objectives.
