Cushman & Wakefield seeks a Data Engineering Senior Manager to lead both hands-on data platform work and a team of 5–8 engineers. You will guide Databricks and Azure-based pipelines, while shaping data engineering strategy and governance across the organization.

The role reports to the Global Head of Data Architecture & Engineering and requires strong leadership, cloud data expertise, and cross‑geography collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks and Azure data ecosystem.
• Proven data engineers management including hiring and reviews.
• Track record delivering production-grade data platforms at scale.
• Ability to lead complex work through influence.
• Strong communication with global stakeholders.
• Familiarity with modern data architectures and DataOps.

Responsibilities

• Platform ownership: design, build, and improve scalable data pipelines on Databricks and Azure.
• Hands-on contributor: code reviews, architecture reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Quality and governance: data quality, observability, security, governance practices.
• Team management: hire, onboard, and manage a 5–8 person data team.
• Coaching and development: career planning for each engineer.
• Culture and engagement: foster inclusive, high-trust team culture.
• Delivery ownership: plan and orchestrate the team's data work.
• Agile execution: implement intake, estimation, sprint planning, retrospectives.
• Risk management: identify and resolve cross-team risks.
• Operational excellence: manage SLAs, on-call, incidents, post-incident learning.
• Business partnership: align data work with stakeholder objectives.
• Global collaboration: work with peers across Global Data Leadership.
• Communication: convey roadmaps and trade-offs to all audiences.
