Job summary

American Family Insurance invites motivated students to join the Summer 2027 Technology & Business Systems Intern program in Madison, WI, for 10–14 weeks starting mid-May and ending in August. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and Scrum teams to translate needs into technical requirements and contribute to AI-enabled projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
• Currently pursuing a baccalaureate, masters, or doctoral degree and enrolled full-time as required by university program.
• Must have completed 24 semester hours before the first work term.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand business needs and project goals.
• Help gather, document, and clarify requirements for new enhancements and system improvements.
• Act as a liaison between business partners and software development teams.
• Assist with maintaining and updating systems, applications, and documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Support testing efforts and help validate that solutions meet business requirements.
• Work closely with Java developers and learn how enterprise applications are designed, built, and supported.
• Contribute to project work that impacts real business outcomes.
• Gain exposure to AI-enabled development tools and emerging technologies.
