Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) invites qualified students to join a 10-week summer internship at the Washington Navy Yard, supporting SSP on data analytics, data pipeline engineering, and software tool development.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or post-graduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related technical field.
• Must have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate experience.
• Must be able to work on-site full-time, 5 days per week, at a government facility in the Washington Navy Yard and conduct multi-day domestic travel as required (fully reimbursed).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize tasks, and perform in a fast-paced, mission-focused work environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of data analysis, data pipeline engineering, and software tools.
• Fulfill technical, programmatic, and organizational tasking set out by a government mentor in support of the SSP branch.
• Organize and attend meetings related to the branch's technical function.
• Perform technical research.
• Draft, review, and/or edit documents.
• Complete a summer project.
• Attend weekly SPA informational roundtables and working lunches with SPA leadership.
