Job summary

Trading Technologies in New York is seeking a Data Engineer to modernize a large SQL Server data platform to Snowflake on AWS. You’ll work across SQL Server and Snowflake environments, designing scalable data models, pipelines, and analytics workloads.

The role emphasizes large-scale data, complex SQL, and production systems, with a focus on migration, data quality, and collaboration with engineering and DevOps. This is a hybrid full-time position with generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and AWS Cloud services (S3 and data services).
• Strong hands-on SQL development experience.
• Python & C# scripting experience.
• Experience with large datasets and production data systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL Server queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and data processing workflows.
• Design and develop scalable Snowflake data solutions, including data models, SQL transformations, loading processes, and analytical workloads.
• Participate in the migration of large data volumes from SQL Server to Snowflake.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and Airflow.
• Develop data ingestion and processing workflows using AWS services like S3.
• Perform SQL Server and Snowflake performance tuning and query optimization.
• Build data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot production data issues and implement reliable long-term solutions.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and operational controls for data pipelines.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and DevOps.
